The Revolution Parkour Seasonal Trials are a quarterly event that lets you put your parkour skills to the test. By challenging a series of obstacles, you will gain a better grasp of your current abilities, identify weak points to train, and help promote individual growth in the local parkour community.
Who The Seasonal Trials are open to any traceurs (whether they study at Revolution Parkour or not) that desire to learn, improve, and grow in both strength and skill. Many of us are hardwired to prepare and train for upcoming events, daily obstacles, and unforeseen challenges. The Trials are a great way to test yourself, keep progressing in your training, and identify areas to improve in.
Seasonal Trials are designed for traceurs thirteen years old and above. However, we recognize that ability can transcend age; for our students younger than thirteen please consult your instructor to see if it will befit your skill level.
For RVPK Students: The Seasonal Trials are not required for RVPK students and will not affect the classes you are eligible for. We simply encourage you—as always—to continue to grow and improve, and we think the Trials are a great way to do that!
About the Seasonal Trials The Seasonal Trials will help you gauge your current level of parkour proficiency. To gain a level, you must complete five challenges that will test the extent of your skills. Upon completing all five challenges, you will have mastered your current level and have the option of moving on to the next.
For example: When a traceur or traceuse completes all five of the Level One challenges, they will receive a Trial Level 1 wristband and will then be allowed to register for the Level Two Challenges.
Because the challenges will vary slightly by season, we encourage students to speak to an instructor about what kind of obstacles they will encounter and what techniques they will be expected to perform.
Why participate? Participation is completely optional, but encouraged for the following reasons.
• It will help you track your personal progression. • It will help RVPK students select the appropriate classes for your skill level. • The wristbands will provide instructors with a means for better tailoring specific obstacles to your skill level. • It will inform you on what techniques you need to focus on to become a well-rounded traceur or traceuse. • It will help the camaraderie between young and old students by giving young students an idea of who they can go to for help. This is not for higher levels to lord it over those who are younger in the parkour community but for bringing the community closer together.
