Adidas Casting Call at the RVPK Gym! (Part 2)

Since we posted the news about the open casting call we have received lots of emails asking questions about who can attend. There has also been lots of excitement about the opportunity. This is an exciting opportunity indeed (!!!), but we think there are some misconceptions about what’s going to happen at the casting call. Most importantly to point out, this is NOT a Parkour tryout session. Here is a more detailed rundown of what the casting call will look like so you can be prepared. The photo shoot is for Adidas and it will be photographed by Portland based photographer Rafael Astorga (http://www.rafaelastorga.com). If you get the part the job is paid, and although we can’t say numbers the compensation is really good :)

With that said, the casting itself is quite simple. The time of the casting is from 2pm-3pm on Sunday at the Revolution Parkour Gym (5651 SW Arctic Dr., Beaverton, OR 97005). You need to be ON TIME. When you arrive the casting will begin. You’ll be asked to fill out an information sheet with your name and contact information. Once you have done this a member of the casting crew will take your picture. This form and picture is all that will be asked of most people. From there, the producers will look at everyone and select the people that they think may best fit the part (this is based mostly on looks actually, but they want to see all looks so everyone has a legitimate shot at this as long as they fit the profile*). From here, interviews and skill evaluations will take place.

To review: The casting call is not a Parkour tryout sessions. It’s actually quite simple. You’ll fill out a piece of paper and have your picture taken. If the producers like you then you’ll be asked questions and asked to perform some Parkour.

This is how most castings are for most commercial jobs. They are simple and without a lot of excitement. The real excitement comes from being selected, working on the piece, and the finished product (not to mention getting paid really well)

Producers/photographers usually know exactly what they are looking for. They don’t need to be sold on a look. They see what they want and run with it. That’s what’ll happen on Sunday. We think everyone has a shot at it so we want everyone to be there!
